This copy boldly signed by Bob with a pawprint in purple ink on the title page. Also signed by the author on title page."Bob is an ideal travelling companion. He does not fuss or panic, he is impervious to the worst vagaries of our weather, and he is uncritical of the commissariat. He is as large as a well-nourished, fully-grown Alsatian, but a trifle heavier, with a long silky, black coat and a white ruff and paws"- page 19. This title has 12 references to Bob in the index, and is also dedicated"To Bob"on the copyright page. Besides the author's signature and Bob's pawprint on the title page, there is also a typed postcard from the author taped in. The postcard is postmarked 1956, and signed with the author's initials MMH.
